I am a fiercely passionate creative. I work to create spaces that allow us to visit the darkest parts of the human spirit without fear of failure; I champion brave and bold work. I'm on a greater mission to work on shows that highlight and start conversations about race, identity, and humanity with love and unconditional grace at the center.
I have always been a lover of music and shape, often leading to a Viewpoints-heavy emphasis in my processes. I am a historian at heart, with a deep love of dramaturgy and understanding every piece of a script. I enjoy finding ways to elevate lesser-known techniques and artists in my work, such as The Way You Made Me, which featured music by my dear friend Kelsey Taylor. While I am unafraid to take risks, I am also committed to a rehearsal room that is anti-racist and puts actor and crew safety and wellbeing at the forefront. I am a believer in creating a process that refuses to leave us all worse for wear.
As a Queer Filipino-American, the discussion and exposure to diversity is central to most all of my material. I try to take any opportunity to use my platform to elevate those with similar and different experiences than myself. I feel a responsibility to bring material that challenges and fosters growth, along with a process that creates true ownership and pride in your work.
I strive to be able to communicate with every member of my team. By working cross-departmentally, I hope to meet my fellow artists where they are with a hands-on understanding and appreciation of the work that goes into theatrical production.
